Palumbo Fuel has been owned and operated by three generations since 1939. Pasquale Palumbo established this family-owned business after he emigrated from Bari, Italy, in 1930. After settling in Newark, New Jersey, he started a coal and ice business, which served the surrounding area. In 1939 Pasquale Palumbo started Palumbo Fuel, which focused on delivering home heating oil. Palumbo Fuel was then operated by 2nd generation Leonard and Robert Palumbo, which grew their business to expand to Union, Middlesex, and Essex Counties.
Our Growing Business
While expanding the family business, Leonard and Robert continued to call the growing business Palumbo Fuel while adding the name L & B Heating Oil to the new business venture. Leonard and Robert continued to honor and serve their customers with excellent service for five decades. Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, in 1995, Leonard Jr. took over operations of the family business. With pride today, Leonard Jr. continues to provide quality, efficient, and reliable service to the loyal customers of Palumbo Fuel & L & B Heating Oil.
